Rebuilt Subaru Outback Engines for Sale

When Subaru introduced the Outback in 1995, the idea was to have their own SUV in an expanding sports utility vehicle market. Commonly called a crossover because it is a dual purpose vehicle. The car has been through four generations of updates and is still in production. Remanufacturedenginesforsale.com fields lots of calls for remanufactured Subaru Outback engines for sale because it’s a very affordable option.

I remember when the Outback came out and Crocodile Dundee did their commercials. Do you? The crowd this vehicle was marketed to were interested in mild off road use in a comfortable setting.

Lets get down to business, it does not matter if you are gathering information or looking for a replacement engine, our blog is free and it’s sole purpose is for anybody’s convenience. Yo won’t find worn out repetitive information here, it’s all original and useable.

Through the four generations, every engine utilized has a DOHC [double overhead camshaft] arrangement or SOHC [single overhead camshaft] arrangement. SOHC and DOHC arrangements have less valve train components. What this allows for is A. faster valve speeds, and B. less parts to fail. If you have any knowledge of cars, almost every manufacturer uses said setups in their small engines.

The list of engines from the introduction in 1995 to currently produced outbacks goes as such, in chronological order from 1995 to current.

2.2L SOHC inline 4 cylinder gasoline engine 1995 to 1999
2.5L DOHC flat or pancake 4 cylinder gasoline engine 1995 to 2004.
3.0L DOHC flat [pancake] 6 cylinder gasoline engine 2000 to 2004.
2.5L DOHC turbocharged gasoline engine 2003 to 2007.
3.0L DOHC flat six cylinder gasoline engine
2.0L turbocharged diesel engine flat four cylinder 2003 to current
2.5L SOHC flat four cylinder engine {i-AVLS] 2009 and on.
Note: i-AVLS is an acronym for Active Valve Control System, which is a variable valve timing technology used by Subaru. The ”i” stands for intelligent.
3.6L DOHC flat six cylinder engine [DAVCS].

Note: A flat 4 or 6 cylinder engine has 4 or 6 cylinders which have a horizontal arrangement. The engine is literally flat in appearance, with the opposing cylinders 180 degrees apart. Not a very common design, it is no less efficient than V type engines, but they use more space and thus are not as popular.

The original VW Beetle engines were flat engines and Porsche makes flat engines currently. We all know how fast a P car is.

When someone asks me what to do when it comes to engine replacement, I can only give an educated guess. However, it is my personal experience, and the experience of many satisfied customers that a remanufactured motor is ultimately the most cost effective value in the field of engine replacement.
